What is the administered world? The administered world is a world in which institutionalisation, i.e. in Herbert Marcuse’s formulation from 1941, “technological rationalisation”, keeps on advancing, and this occurs by politics or the political being extracted from institutions. This not only impacts on the domain that in current society is practically reserved for “politics”, i.e. the whole system of parliamentarianism and its affiliated authorities, but – in tandem with a comprehensive culture industrialisation carried out in the name of pop culture – on all domains of life.
