It is a problem in politically engaged leftist campaigns that the marginalised persons or groups whose cause is being supported are frequently denied the chance to speak. To speak for somebody else is problematic. I believe however that in specific situations, due to time limits or because of institutional restrictions, it may be necessary to do exactly this and speak up for someone. Silence would be akin to legitimising the situation.
