Grant Kester: You see the implications of this idea—that the role of the artist is to systematically deconstruct the truth claims of all other disciplines—in conceptualism during the 1960s. We encounter a kind of generic skepticism within artistic production towards all other fields of knowledge production. In my view, this has really started to change, as the conventional concept of criticality in art has begun to change.
